The year 2016 is going to be the year of virtual reality, preorders for the virtual reality headset, the Oculus Rift, has been finally opened to general public and shipping will start from March 28th to 20 countries.
What is Oculus Rift?
But before ordering this, you need to make sure that your system is compatible or not for it. For better experience with the device, they have recommended the following PC configuration:
Graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
Processor: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
Memory: 8GB+ RAM
Output: Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
Input: 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
Operating system: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer
Also you can check whether your current system meets their recommended specification or not, by downloading their software ‘Oculus Compatibility Tool’.
Download the software and run it, no installation is required. When you click the start button, it will analyze your system and will display a list of hardware components that are compatible and those which are not compatible with the Oculus Rift. It will also display minimum requirement for each component in drop-down menu.
